Effective dispute resolution should be available to everyone. Unfortunately, a number of disputes are never appropriately or satisfactorily resolved due to the cost of litigation. Individuals, businesses and organisations may not have the financial ability or the dispute may not economically justify litigation.
The Legal Services Agency administers legal aid. Companies and organisations are not entitled to legal aid. Additionally, the large majority of individuals are unlikely to meet the entitlement criteria set by the LSA.
Chris’s practice includes a pro bono component for parties who are not entitled to legal aid. Pro bono instructions will be accepted subject to the New Zealand Law Society code of ethics relating to barristers and workload.
Email Chris for further information relating to his pro bono work.
