Experience
Chris Patterson holds both a law and a commerce degree with honours from Otago University. Chris' practice comprises of the litigation side of both commercial and employment work. His fields of practice include commercial litigation, business law, commercial fraud, corporate insolvency, professional negligence, property, employment and intellectual property law.
Chris regularly appears at all levels of the lower and superior courts. He also appears in a number of the Australian courts including the New South Wales Court of Appeal. Chris has been a member of The Litigation Group in Auckland since July 2005. Previously, he was a member of Eldon Chambers after leaving one of Auckland's largest commercial litigation firms during February 2001. Chris worked in New York as a law clerk during the mid 1990s. He has held a door tenancy with Elizabeth Street Chambers Sydney since mid 2001.
Chris Patterson was admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales during 2001. He currently holds a barristers practicing certificate in that State where the practice of barristers is regulated by the Legal Profession Act 2004, the Legal Profession Regulations 2004 and any conditions imposed by the Bar Council and where liability is limited by a scheme approved under professional standards legislation in respect of matters arising within New South Wales.
