Areas of Practice
My practice embraces a broad range of commercial litigation (including company and shareholder disputes), civil litigation (including contractual and tortious claims), claims involving equitable doctrines and relief (including injunctive relief, breaches of fiduciary duty (particularly in relation to joint ventures), and equitable estoppel), and trust litigation.

In addition, I have significant experience in both constitutional and administrative law.

Furthermore, over an extended period, I have been involved in various roles in formal inquiries including Erebus, the Auckland Casino, and Winebox; and I was appointed by the Prime Minister to inquire into the activities of Taito Philip Field, former Associate Minister of Justice, an inquiry which resulted in the Ingram Report.

I also have experience in relation to the repatriation of funds claimed under the Proceeds of Crime Act; in that regard, in a long-running claim, I successfully opposed, on behalf of numerous foreign investors, consolidated claims commenced by the Attorney-General of the United States.
