Areas of Practice
David has over 20 years’ experience as a commercial litigation lawyer.
From 1990 until 1993 David was a litigation partner at Phillips Fox and from 1993 until 2000 was a litigation partner at Kensington Swan. David commenced practice as a barrister sole in 2001.
David has a general commercial litigation practice with emphasis on intellectual property, property, corporate and corporate insolvency disputes.
David’s intellectual property practice includes acting for copyright collecting societies and publishers, copyright and licensing disputes including applications to the Copyright Tribunal and trade mark/passing off claims.
David’s property practice includes commercial lease disputes, rent reviews and disputes arising from agreements for the sale and purchase of land.
David’s corporate and corporate insolvency practice includes prejudiced shareholders’ claims, acting for liquidators and directors in directors’ breach of duty claims, making applications for directions to the Court on behalf of liquidators, receivers and statutory managers, supporting and applying to set aside voidable transaction notices and making pooling applications.
